Recording - Audio
When recording in Zoom what do you need to do to enable each speaker's audio / video to be edited separate (for example, to edit out one speaker's cough without affecting the other speaker's audio)? Look for a setting in Zoom that allows you to “Record each participant."
Edits - Audio
How do you level the volume for an entire podcast audio file? Go to the Track Inspector (right side of screen) - once you open it, you’ll have global volume controls. You can also add a Compression (magic wand button > Compressor) which smooths out the volume levels across your track.
Edits - Audio & Video
If you make too many changes in Correct Text mode, is there a danger that Descript gets confused about matching up the edited text with the audio? As long as your changes more accurately reflect the recorded audio you should be good. If you start adding text that does not actually exist in the audio, you will likely encounter problems.

Edits - Search & Replace
How do I make “cuts” look natural and not jerky. Cutting out segments of video will cause a jump in the video. Descript does not currently support transitions, so you may want to export to a video editing platform to smooth our your jumps. Descript currently supports export to Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere.
Is search-and-replaced affected by whether Correct Text or Edit Media is selected, or does it always just change text (not audio / video)? You can find/replace in either correct text or edit media mode--so, for example, if you do a search-and-replace with Edit Media selected, then the audio / video as well as the text will be affected.
