The Anatomy of Descript
From Descript 101 Webinar Q&A
Projects are the main container for your entire podcast, the media, various compositions, etc.
Compositions are containers for your various scripts. Some people use compositions to edit the different parts of their episode, then they group them together in a final composition. Dragging files into Composition enables you to see the text in the script when it’s done transcribing.
Recorded audio is automatically saved to the Media Library. If you drag files directly to the Media Library, they can be transcribed, but you won’t see your Script in a Composition. The Media Library is basically just a folder that shows you what media assets are available in your project. You won’t ever be working in Media Library - it’s just a visual representation of the files that are available for use in your Project/Compositions.
