How can authors get better answers—and build better reputations—inside online writing communities? Matty Dalrymple talks with bestselling author and publishing educator Dale L. Roberts about practical etiquette for asking questions, offering advice, and building trust in author forums.
Dale explains why a little research and a clearly framed question can save everyone time, why experienced members should answer with empathy or choose not to answer, and how asking someone to rephrase can defuse confusion before it becomes conflict.
The conversation also explores the role of moderators, the difference between seeking facts and seeking support, how to choose the right community for your needs, and how authors can demonstrate expertise without turning every helpful reply into a sales pitch.
Dale L. Roberts is a bestselling author, award-winning content creator, and trusted voice in self-publishing.
