I'm Matty Dalrymple, The Indy Author, and I invite you to join me at The Indy Author Podcast, where we discuss the writing craft, the publishing voyage, and how we can navigate our way to the readers who will love our books.
I independently published my Ann Kinnear Suspense Novels and Suspense Shorts, my Lizzy Ballard Thrillers, and my nonfiction work, including Taking the Short Tack: Creating Income and Connecting with Readers Using Short Fiction and The Indy Author’s Guide to Podcasting for Authors, through my imprint, William Kingsfield Publishers. I named my imprint in honor of my father, Thomas William Dalrymple, who wrote under that pen name—you can check out his short fiction in Collier's and Cosmopolitan—and who inspired me to pursue my dream of being a full-time author and publisher.
I believe that any author who wants to approach the writing craft and the publishing voyage in a professional way, whether they're independently published or traditionally published, must approach the endeavor with an indy frame of mind. In support of that effort, I host The Indy Author Podcast where I speak with experts in the writing craft and publishing voyage who can provide the support we need on our author journeys. New episodes launch weekly. Another resource is https://www.theindyauthor.com/, which Writer’s Digest named one of the “101 Best Websites for Writers.”
I hope that you'll consider supporting my efforts at The Indy Author with a small contribution via Patreon. There are several membership levels, with monthly contributions ranging from the $1/month Indy Author Crew to the $5/month Captain’s Club, and depending on how many Tuesdays are in a month, that calculates to between 20¢ and $1.25 per episode, which I like to think is quite a bargain. As a patron, you can join my private Slack community, which includes other writers—from those drafting their first work to established, award-winning, and bestselling authors—as well as past podcast guests. And if you’ve gotten value from The Indy Author Podcast or my other resources and were thinking, “I wish I could buy Matty a cup of coffee,” you can do that! Just click Buy Me a Coffee to make a small contribution via PayPal or Stripe.
I'm looking forward to the creative voyage we'll take together.

What guests are saying about The Indy Author Podcast ...
"Matty, I've been interviewed in print and podcast numerous times. Your promotional efforts of my appearance on THE INDY AUTHOR has been, hands-down, the best I've experienced. I even had another writer friend point this out. Kudos to you! The job you've done is fantastic!"—Frank Zafiro, guest on Episode 160 - Mistakes Writers Make about Police Roles and How to Avoid Them
"I hopped onto a video chat and hit it off with Matty from the get-go. We easily burned through an hour of content and could’ve done another hour if time permitted. But just when I thought she was done and it was over, she blew me away. Matty is a promotional machine! Wow!Matty broke down the interview into small sound bites and broadcast it across social media. I’ve never been on a podcast where the host has done so much to promote an appearance. I felt like I was slacking with my promotions when looking at her."—Multi-appearance guest Dale L. Roberts of Self-Publishing with Dale
